Can someone overcome Vitiligo? What do skin Experts say?

Reading about something, experiencing something and witnessing something are three different things in life. The internet is a source of many things, mainly information about something that you may be interested in.

I happened to read about vitiligo by chance and I could imagine how someone affected by it could live his or her life. I then happened to meet a woman in an auto affected by non-segmental vitiligo. Imagine that period in your life where you expect to enjoy your life to the fullest, but you are broken down because of a skin disorder.

1 in 50 individuals is thought to be affected by Vitiligo, which is a chronic skin condition that causes white patches in the specified regions of the skin or all over the skin.

Vitiligo mostly attacks the areas exposed to the sun such as the face, feet, elbows, and hands.

It is mostly expected to occur when the melanin-producing cells (Melanocytes) are damaged or die out leading to depigmentation. The extent of vitiligo differs from one patient to another and the white macules may become severe in some patients within a short period of time.

The question as to whether one’s vitiligo may disappear or not depends on mainly the following;
  • The cause
  • Immediate action one you witness white patches
  • Tye of treatment used
  • The skin specialist visited
It is quite absurd to note that numerous patients have opted to embrace vitiligo due to failed treatments. White patched treatment in India is mainly categorized into surgical and nonsurgical treatments.

Most patients resort to lotions that are believed to blend the white patches with their normal skin color to reduce the psychological torture that vitiligo causes in the case of failed treatments

Corticosteroid injections, phototherapy, melanocytes implantation and skin grafting are some of the possible treatments for Vitiligo that can produce effective results when a qualified dermatologist is consulted
